Support groups

Supporting people moving on after domestic and family violence.

Support groups provide opportunities for people to discuss their experiences with others who have been through similar experiences. These groups offer a safe and supportive space where everyone’s story can be shared and listened to.

Moving On Program

This program is for women ready to develop strategies and personal resources to help them move on after domestic and family violence.

Our specialist practitioners provide a safe and caring space for participants to share and learn from others.

What to expect

Sessions are small, with around eight to 12 participants. Our practitioners help you explore your sense of self, help you strengthen your social skills, confidence and self-esteem and support you in setting goals for your future.

The location and timing of the group changes each term.

When we are taking next expressions of interest, those who have completed a registration form will receive an email notification.

This is a free support group.

Beyond Program

Helping those in the community impacted move beyond domestic and family violence.

This program is for Trans, Intersex and Gender Diverse people who have experienced domestic and family violence to explore and talk about their story to others who have been through similar experiences.

This group supports participants in creating strategies and building resources to help them move beyond their experiences of domestic and family violence.

This program is co-facilitated by DVCS and A Gender Agenda ensuring a safe environment to share and learn from others.

Best thing I could have done for myself.  I was too afraid to seek one-to-one counselling but being in the group environment made it so enjoyable it didn’t feel like self-help at all, but the results are phenomenal.
