The Domestic Violence Crisis Service is governed by a Board of Directors who are responsible for ensuring the strategic direction and the financial and legal stability of the organization. Our Board members are dynamic, bringing a range of diverse professional and personal experiences.
The Board at capacity consists of nine members and meets monthly on a voluntary basis. These members embrace and lead DVCS in line with our principles and strategic aims each year to ensure continuity of our service and improve outcomes for those in our community.

Kylie is the Managing Partner of Parbery Consulting a local Canberra consulting company. She is an experienced public and private sector leader who focuses on cohesive team culture to drive performance and deliver results. Kylie is active in the community sector, and champions equity and community support through her personal and professional endeavours.

Amanda is a Canberra local, wife, mother of two beautiful boys and an Accountant. The early part of her career was with a local mid-sized Canberra accounting firm where she worked her way up to being partner. After having her children, she took a step back and for the last nine months has been the Finance Manager of a growing Retirement Village.
During the most recent lockdown in Canberra, Amanda made the decision to do more to support her local community. She would like to help DVCS achieve it’s strategic and financial goals by providing her professional knowledge and enthusiasm for numbers. In return Amanda looks forward to learning more about how to advocate for and assist those who are impacted by domestic, family and intimate partner violence.

Julie is a long-term Canberra resident, wife and mother of two gorgeous boys and has enjoyed a successful 20+ year career across the public and not-for-profit sectors in operational, policy, governance and project/program management. Julie is currently the National Strategy and Projects Manager at St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc. Julie has extensive volunteering experience and has lived experience with family violence.

Karen started her career in private legal practice and the courts, then joining the Attorney-General’s Department, where she was a senior executive for nearly 20 years, leading a diverse range of legal policy responsibilities, including relating to the courts, family law and family and sexual violence. Karen has also worked as a volunteer refugee lawyer in Bangkok and a legal policy adviser in Papua New Guinea. Following her formal retirement from the public service in 2023, Karen is now balancing consultancy work and volunteering with other personal pursuits.

Adam Gill is a problem solver and creative thinker in the commercial space. A generalist by nature, his strengths are in marketing, branding and business, where he’s adept at identifying the optimal path for success.
He’s used these skills across a variety of roles with some of Canberra’s largest developers, consultants and commercial entities. He now works at Region Media, where he heads their commercial team and is part of the executive leadership team.

Manasi is a culturally and linguistically diverse woman who was born in India and migrated to Australia as a child. Whilst from Melbourne and having lived in a number of cities in Australia and Asia, Manasi now calls Canberra home. With a background in the visitor economy, she has worked in senior roles across commercial organisations, ACT Government and is currently a Program Manager in a Federal Government agency. As an outcome of COVID, Manasi decided that she wanted to use her experience and understanding of the world along with challenges that women face both in Australia and internationally, in a community-based tangible manner to better women’s lives.

Stephanie is a consultant and advisor to federal government departments. Previously, Stephanie was a lecturer and tutor across various Australian universities including, Queensland University of Technology, Monash and the University of South Australia. She’s helped establish childcare centres in South Australia and has a background in accounting/tax. Stephanie has previously served on the Board of TJ Ryan Foundation as secretary and treasurer.
