Media Release – Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

The Board of the ACT Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Sue Webeck as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Webeck joins DVCS with significant experience working in the non-Government sector, having spent over five years working within the area of sexual, domestic and family violence specifically. Additionally, she has spent time working within organisations supporting our local LGBTIQA+ communities.
Ms Webeck has most recently been the Senior Manager at the Australian National University’s Respectful Relationships Unit. She has been a part of this Unit since January 2019.
Prior to working at the ANU, Ms Webeck has worked in management positions at Meridian (formerly known as AIDS Action Council of the ACT), A Gender Agenda and the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre.
Ms Webeck has served on several Boards, including Canberra Rape Crisis Centre, Youth Coalition of the ACT and ACT Education Primary School Boards.
“I am honoured to be joining DVCS. DVCS is a highly regarded organisation within the domestic and family violence landscape and I’m proud to be part of that. I look forward to continuing to support those impacted by domestic and family violence. I welcome the opportunity to contribute towards this creating better outcomes for our community” said Ms Webeck.
“We are delighted to welcome Sue as CEO. We believe she is a great fit for the organisation. She brings a wealth of experience and will complement our solid Leadership Team and frontline staff. We look forward to working with her” said DVCS Board Chair, Sian Jowitt.
The DVCS Board wishes to extend their gratitude to Ms Glenda Stevens for her guidance and management since her employment in September 2021 as Interim General Manager.
Ms Webeck will commence in the role of CEO on 1 June 2021 is available for media from mid-May 2021. Sian Jowitt is available for comment also.
