Elizabeth Pallas

Liz has worked in the Community Services Sector for twelve years as a trainer, child protection practitioner and youth worker. She has worked for Child and Youth Protection Services (CYPS) since 2015 and currently works as a Practice Leader, responsible for coaching and training new practitioners, mandated reporters, and community organisations. Liz has specialised experience in supporting survivors of Family and Domestic Violence and advocates for cultural transformation and systemic reform in our responses to these vulnerable members of our community.  Liz is a qualified Safe and Together trainer, and has led the critical overhaul of core staff training programs within CYPS that challenge existing misconceptions and disrupt the conventional safety planning approach with respect to Family and Domestic Violence matters. She looks forward to fulfilling her governance role in a way that meaningfully contributes to achieving an improved Family and Domestic Violence response in the ACT.
